Decluttering 101: Cleaning the Garage

DECLUTTERING 101: A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE

GARAGE DAY:

Cleaning out the garage is never fun. But every year I clean it out anyway. This takes me a weekend because there is so much to go through. I do use the 3 box method: Keep, throw away and donate.

But that’s just the first step. Check out the rest of the steps:

1.      Pull everything out (cabinets included) & place in Keep, throw away or donate designated areas.
2.       Clean entire garage.
3.       Put Keep items back in its designated place.
4.       Haul away to trash or donation center.
5.       Put my car back in garage with room to spare.

                                                                Stuff everywhere!

                                                                    Move all outside
                                                            Clean and Spacious
And there is plenty of room for the car!

There are a few steps in between you can add and some prep steps to make it more fun like getting music set up and making sure you have lots of water and sustenance for a long day.

But all the efforts are worth it because it feels great to know where everything is again and I have lots of room to walk around. I especially love that everything is up on shelves and off the floor. There are a still a few things I still have to do like label containers and purge a few unnecessary duplicate items but all in all I’m done with the garage. And that feels great!

Spring is in the air, time to redesign?

So many beautiful options. With spring just around the corner its time to get to work on my dining room redesign project. I hired Claudia Dufresne to help me with this home project as I love her simple beautiful style. She hand picks the fabrics and makes the drapes herself! Now That is an art and she is fabulous. So here are a few “before” pics as we start and I will keep you posted as this rolls out into our fabulous new dining room. If you need help with designing, fabrics, staging or even curb appeal ideas for home selling I highly recommend Claudia at # 760-789-0025. ______________ Task #1: Picking the fabric, fringe and Making the drapes: Its hard to believe its been 12 years that we have lived in this house. Claudia made these beautiful "Disney Gala" drapes over 10 years ago! I still love the grandiose style but I know it is time to change it up. Can't wait to see what she comes up with! Stay tuned for more pics...
